Waynesboro Police seek public help in ID’g Kmart shoplifting suspects

Chris Graham

The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying to two men involved in a felony shoplifting from Kmart, 2712 West Main Street, last month.

On February 9, two men entered the store and began selecting several articles of men’s apparel including hunting, i.e. camouflage, and work clothes.  After they walked out the front entrance of the store, the loss prevention officer approached them and told them to return to the store.  The men then fled in opposite directions with the stolen items.  Responding police officers were unable to locate them after arriving on scene.

It is estimated that nearly $300 worth of merchandise including five jackets and a wallet were stolen.

Anyone with information in this incident is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800)322-2017.  Information given to Crime Stoppers may be given anonymously.  Callers with information that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
