Nice touch: Masters chamo Bubba Watson celebrates at Waffle House

Contributors

You’ve just won your second green jacket at The Masters. So naturally, you celebrate … at Waffle House?

That’s where Bubba Watson marked his second Masters championship late Sunday night, as noted in a tweet that the golfer sent out to his 1.15 million followers.

Watson is pictured in the photo with his wife, Angie, and best friend Judah Smith, a pastor from Seattle.

Watson famously mused about serving Waffle House at the champions’ dinner after his first Masters win in 2012, but didn’t follow through with that plan.

Waffle House, happy to capitalize on the free publicity, issued a statement thanking Watson for being “one of our regulars.”

“It’s a testament to Bubba’s character that even though he has two green jackets, he still comes to us for his grilled cheese and hash browns. All of the Waffle House Nation is proud today,” Pat Warner, Waffle House’s vice president of culture, told ESPN.com.

Seriously, what sportswriter isn’t holding hands, hugging and lounging in hot tubs with coaches they cover? Just last week, for instance, Ryan Odom,...
