Gas prices are up 8.5 cents per gallon in Virginia, outpacing the 2.5-cents-per-gallon spike nationwide, according to data from GasBuddy.

Virginia drivers are paying an average of $3.47 a gallon on Monday. The national average is at $3.49 a gallon.

The national average price of diesel has risen 2.3 cents in the last week and stands at $3.83 per gallon.

The good news, per Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, is that Hurricane Beryl had no major impact on prices.

“For now, we’ll continue to see small price fluctuations as we await news of any hurricane-fueled refinery disruptions or other supply challenges as we head into the busiest weeks of the summer travel season,” De Haan said.
