newspaperThe Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission (CSPDC) recently launched a public opinion survey to gather input concerning public bus transportation needs and services in Augusta County and the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.

The survey is accessible here.

For those without computer access, paper copies of the survey are available at several locations around the region:

Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building Staunton Senior Center
503 W. Main Street 300 Churchville Street
Waynesboro, VA Staunton, VA

Augusta County Library Staunton City Hall
Fishersville Main Library 116 W. Beverley St, #3
1759 Jefferson Highway Staunton, VA
Fishersville, VA

Staunton Public Library Waynesboro Senior Center
1 Churchville Avenue 325 Pine Avenue
Staunton, VA Waynesboro, VA

Surveys need to be completed by February 6, 2015.

In addition to the public opinion survey, a rider survey is also being conducted aboard the buses. These surveys are part of the data collection effort for a Transit Development Plan (TDP) that is currently under construction. The purpose of the TDP is to establish a six-year strategy to maintain and improve public transportation services in the region.

The TDP is being created by the KFH Group, a consulting firm that specializes in the transit industry, with funding provided by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. A draft of the TDP is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2015.
