Court Square Theater in downtown Harrisonburg presents ComedyFest!, two nights of music, comedy, and improv featuring Glick & Phillips, Nickels & Weiner, and Mental Flossing on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $20, and will be $3 more at the door. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit Court Square Theater.

Glick & Phillips have been entertaining audiences with their musical satire for over 25 years. Best friends, brothers-in–law, and partners in the practice of healing laughter, the pair is probably best known for their annual appearance at Harrisonburg’s First Night celebration. Fans look forward to hearing what toes the duo will step on next as they unveil their latest original work or parody. No stone is left unturned as they consider themselves “equal opportunity offenders”!

Nickels & Wiener are the dynamic duo of improv. With minimal props, the two use audience suggestions to shape the action taking place on-stage, often with hilarious results. There is a spontaneity and unpredictability with this style of comedy that makes each performance exciting and unique.

Mental Flossing is Harrisonburg’s own improvisational comedy and theatre troupe, using a combination of improv and skit/sketch comedy in their highly-entertaining shows. The group members also feel strongly about giving back to the community through their “Comedy for Charity” events.

Court Square Theater is a non-profit venue for the arts, operated by the Arts Council of the Valley, and is located at 61 Graham Street in downtown Harrisonburg. Advance tickets can be purchased through the box office at the Smith House, 311 S. Main St., Harrisonburg; by phone at 540.433.9189; or online at www.courtsquaretheater.com.
