Augusta Health teen volunteers contribute more than 1,300 hours

This summer, 16 teen volunteers contributed 1338 volunteer hours to Augusta Health.  Teen volunteers have finished ninth grade, are at least 14 ½ years old, and have demonstrated and interest in working in healthcare.

“Every year, we’re amazed by the quality of our teen volunteers, their willingness to help and learn, and their enthusiasm,” said Lee Phillips, Director of Volunteer Services at Augusta Health.  “We appreciate all their contributions and look forward to working with many of them again in the future—perhaps even as our colleagues.”

The 2012 Teen Volunteers, their departments and hours volunteered were:

– Courtney Cotton, Child Care, 70 hours
– Taylor Crabtree, Skilled Care, 54 hours
– Mack Cullen, Fitness, 70 hours
– Savannah Davis, 3 East, 79 hours
– Bradley Dressler, Outpatient Therapies, 84.75 hours
– Cheyenne Folk, Child Care, 78.25 hours
– Mallory Martin, Nursing Treatment Center, 95.5 hours
– Brittany McAllister, Inpatient Therapy, 68.5 hours
– Brooke Morris, Child Care, 85 hours
– Akash Pandit, Cardiology, 102 hours
– Emma Parolisi, Public Relations, 89.25 hours
– Whitley Simmons, Outpatient Surgery, 104 hours
– Kayla Sparks, 1 Surgical, 72.75 hours
– Jeremy Shipman, Cardiovascular, 104.25 hours
– Kaylea Wicks, 2E/2W-PCU, 76.25 hours

Applications for the 2013 Teen Volunteers will be available in spring 2013.
