McDonnell proposes new funding to help efforts to reduce homelessness

Gov. Bob McDonnell today announced that his upcoming budget will contain considerable new funding to support Virginia’s ongoing homelessness reduction and prevention efforts. The governor will call for over $9.5 million in additional funding for the Virginia Housing Trust Fund, the Rapid Re-Housing Program, and efforts to further enhance data collection.

More winter: 5 inches of snow possible Tuesday

Another day, another Winter Storm Watch from the National Weather Service, this one forecasting five inches or more of snow for a wide area encompassing the Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia. The forecast is calling for precipitation to begin possibly as sleet in the predawn hours Tuesday before changing to snow through the early afternoon.
