I came clean on this a couple of weeks ago, making my first post on the site devoted to all things UVa. athletics, about 15 years too late, now that I think about it. That’s roughly how long I’ve been reading the site, basically on a daily basis 10 months a year, August through June.

McDonnell announces major step forward in widening I-64 from Richmond to Newport News

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced today a significant development to ease congestion and increase safety on I-64 in the Hampton Roads and Richmond regions. The Federal Highway Administration has signed the Final Environmental Impact Statement, which supports the future widening of 75 miles of I-64 from I-95 in Richmond to I-664 in Hampton.

Apologists for embattled UVa. football coach Mike London begin their defense of the Cavs’ awful 2-10 2013 season by pointing out how young the team was this year – with just seven seniors seeing action. The notion advanced along with this defense is that London’s first three recruiting classes, all in or around the Rivals Top 25, will get better with age.

Healthy Connections health event at Boys & Girls Club

A neighborhood health event, Healthy Connections, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Waynesboro Boys & Girls Club. The event is a cooperative project of Augusta Health, Augusta Free Clinic, the Boys and Girls Club, Med Assist, Enroll Virginia, the Valley Community Services Board, and local providers.

Anthony Harris highlights four UVa. football All-ACC honorees

Virginia football player Anthony Harris was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football first team, announced by the league on Monday. Running back Kevin Parks was named to the second team, offensive tackle Morgan Moses was named to the third team and defensive tackle Brent Urban was an honorable mention selection.
