Former VMI ace Reed Garrett has been named one of eight representatives of the Texas organization in the upcoming Arizona Fall League, according to information released by the Rangers Wednesday.
Garrett, who will pitch for the AFL team out of Surprise, Ariz., comes off a year in which he pitched at three different levels, including making his AAA debut. Garrett went 4-8 on the year. He will join pitchers John Fasola and Joe Filomeno, catcher Jose Trevino and infielders Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Andy Ibanez.
Garrett will also be a teammate of the current #1 prospect in all of baseball, Boston’s Yoan Moncada.
