Rocktown Rollers hold first home bout on Saturday

The first home bout of the Rocktown Rollers 2010 flat-track roller-derby season will be on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Funky’s Skating Center in Harrisonburg.

The Rollers will be hosting the Mason Dixon Roller Vixens from Hagerstown, Md. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the bout starts at 5 p.m.

Ten percent of the bout proceeds will go to benefit the The Collins Center. The Rocktown Rollers are also a proud sponsor of the Reading Road Show and the Gus Bus. The team will be donating 5 percent of all tickets sales to the Gus Bus.

Pre-sale tickets are $5 and are available at The Artful Dodger or from your favorite derby girl. Tickets are $8 at the door on the day of the event. Tickets are also available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/104180.

Bring your own chairs if you want to sit close to the action.

The Rocktown Rollers 2010 season runs from March-October 2010 and includes bouts with teams from all over the region, including Richmond, Roanoke, and Harrisburg, Pa.
