Across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, these select properties represent the upper echelon of the hospitality industry.

“Hotel properties and restaurants that earn the prestigious Four and Five Diamond rating provide guests with a tailored experience and superior service in comfortable, high quality surroundings,” said Martha Mitchell Meade, Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “These establishments consistently exceed the expectations of the most discriminating traveler – the AAA inspector. We are proud to have these dedicated businesses in our region.”

AAA inspectors visit more than 58,000 hotels and restaurants over the course of the year, allowing them to identify emerging trends in the industry.. Inspectors have observed hotels increasingly using technology to complement the white glove service guests expect at the ultra-luxury level, allowing options such as mobile check-in and touch-screen access to concierge services. Similarly, at restaurants they have observed the emergence of tablet-based digital menus, with electronic ordering and tableside payment features.

ABOUT AAA/CAA DIAMOND RATINGS: For 79 years AAA has used professional inspectors to conduct in-person property inspections. AAA offers the only rating system using comprehensive, on-site professional hotel and restaurant evaluations guided by member priorities. With a far greater inventory than any other rating entity, AAA’s rating system covers the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Travelers can find Diamond Rated establishments and inspector insight in AAA trip planning products: the AAA Mobile®app for tablets and smartphones, the desktop and mobile versions of the TripTik® Travel Planner  online mapping and routing tool, searchable Travel Guides on AAA.com and AAA TourBook® guides available to members at AAA/CAA offices.
