An inmate who walked out of Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Henrico County last year was sentenced to three additional years of custody for his escape.

Naseem Isaiah Roulack was scheduled for a jury trial beginning today. However, Roulack entered a guilty plea at a hearing on Nov. 26 in Henrico County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to five additional years with two years suspended.

As a result of his guilty plea, the scheduled jury trial was withdrawn.

Roulack escaped Virginia Department of Corrections custody at the Henrico County hospital in August 2023 and was captured by the U.S. Marshals Service and Fairfax County Police Department on Oct. 25.

The two officers at the hospital who fell asleep on the job resigned their jobs on Aug. 23, 2023.

Before his escape, Roulack was serving a 13-year sentence at Greensville Correctional Center for aggravated malicious wounding, grand larceny and hit-and-run.

It is unknown if Roulack will face additional charges related to the robbery of a Richmond man and the armed theft of an automobile in Maryland during his two months on the run.

A Washington, D.C. woman, Sasha Castillo, also faces a felony charge for aiding Roulack in his escape. She was indicted by a Richmond Circuit Court grand jury in July.
