Due to UVA’s Move-In, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will detour the FREE Trolley on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23. Bus stops along McCormick Road will not be served. Friday’s detour will occur from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday’s detour will occur from 8 AM to 5 PM.
During the detour, the FREE Trolley will continue straight on Alderman Road, turn right onto Ivy Road, and straight onto University Avenue. At University Avenue, the FREE Trolley will resume its normal route path.
Routes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will also experience delays during these times as traffic is expected to be heavy.
