Del. Sam Rasoul commends attorney general for Natural Bridge Zoo inquiry

Rasoul HeadshotDelegate Sam Rasoul (D-Roanoke) applauded Attorney General Mark Herring’s announcement that his office is initiating an inquiry into Natural Bridge Zoo.  The zoo’s treatment of its animals had been called into question following a report from the Humane Society last month, which included photographic and video documentation of animal abuse.

“I am just one of many people from Virginia and beyond who was deeply disturbed by the HSUS report on Natural Bridge Zoo released last month,” said Rasoul.  “I am glad to see that the Attorney General’s office has taken the allegations seriously by launching an investigation.  I sincerely hope that the state and federal inquiries yield real and permanent solutions for the well-being of these animals.”
