Albemarle County: Police make arrest in the May 1 Oak Hill Store shooting

A Charlottesville teen is in custody on charges related to a May 1 shooting at Oak Hill Store in Albemarle County injured two people.

Amir Sumpter, 18, of Charlottesville, faces a run of charges in connection with the incident, according to a news release from the Albemarle County Police Department.

Sumpter is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Holmes with the Albemarle County Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 434-296-5807.
