Volunteers from the Charlottesville chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America will fix brake lights for area residents completely free of charge on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This public service aims to help Charlottesville’s most vulnerable workers and residents retain access to reliable transportation, preventunnecessarypolice stops, expensive tickets and fines, and possible court appearances.
By working to reduce the number of police stops that disproportionately impact vulnerable populations, the Charlottesville DSA hopes to advance its vision of a more just, humane, and free society.
