Henderson, Dawna SueThe Waynesboro Police Department charged a city woman after she had a tantrum at Kate Collins Middle School, 1625 Ivy Street, earlier in the month.

Dawna Sue Henderson, 37 years old, faces one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct after the June 9 incident. Henderson, who is a parent, went to the school’s main office on third to last day of school and became belligerent with the office staff.  She was upset because her child was not allowed to participate in an end of the school year activity.

Henderson pushed items that were on a desk onto the floor and slapped an item out of the principal’s hand when she tried to hand it to Henderson.  She did this in full view of other parents and several students.  The staff told Henderson to leave which she did but only after shouting obscenities at school employees.

A school resource officer was told of the incident and investigated.  Henderson was arrested at her residence June 25.  She is free on a personal recognizance bond.
