Back on July 30, we wrote about how UVA Basketball had added a game with Arkansas to its November schedule.
Today, UVA Athletics put out a release to tell us that, indeed, Virginia and Arkansas will play on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The game tips at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Sept. 4.

“We are excited to announce this nonconference game against Arkansas at Capital One Arena,” UVA coach Ryan Odom said, per a quote from the release. “We have great respect for coach John Calipari and his program and look forward to bringing Virginia Basketball to the nation’s capital.”
A CBS Sports Too Early Top 25 out on Aug. 10 has Virginia at #9 and Arkansas at #10, so, this one should be fun.
The November-December schedule also has Kentucky (CBS: #16), a road game at Maryland – ignored in the Too Early Top 25s that I’m seeing, but that arena is a super tough place to play – and the Battle 4 Atlantis, with a field that includes the likes of Marquette, Texas A&M and Xavier.
None of those are in the Too Early Top 25s, but they’re all name programs.
Oh, and then there’s a game in December in MSG against a certain UConn team (CBS: #4).
You may have heard of them.
All of that, plus a home-and-home with Duke (CBS: #2).
That’s a decent schedule that our guy is putting together.
