The Kid Zone will be open prior to the match, where children can enjoy inflatables, a face painter and a balloon artist. It also is a Sabre Rewards Night, with T-shirts, Domino’s Pizza and Pepsi products for the first 500 students.

Virginia-Tulsa Series
Virginia holds a 1-1 record in the all-time series with Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane earned a 1-0 double-overtime win over the Cavaliers on Sept. 5, 2014, in Tulsa, Okla., on Cameron Drackett’s golden goal. The previous matchup was a 2-0 UVa home win in 2007.

Cavaliers Open with 1-0 Win Over Charlotte
UVa began its season last Saturday with a 1-0 win over then-No. 17 Charlotte. Nicko Corriveau’s header in the 38th minute off a Todd Wharton free kick was the match’s lone score. Goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell earned the clean sheet. He made one save, although it was a diving stop on a 74th-minute rocket from 18 yards from Daniel Bruce. Virginia out-shot Charlotte, 10-7, including a 3-1 edge in shots on goal.

Rookies Play Role in Opening Win
Four Virginia freshmen earned playing time in the Cavaliers’ season-opening win. Malcolm Dixon started and played the full 90 minutes at right back. While not at his natural position, Dixon filled in well for an injured Marcus Salandy-Defour. Edward Opoku, Derrick Etienne and Jean-Christophe Koffi all earned time off the bench. Opoku played 49 minutes at forward.

Noting Tulsa
Tulsa lost its season opener, 1-0 in double overtime, to No. 22 Saint Louis last Friday before rebounding for a 2-1 win over Sacramento State on Sunday. Senior defender Bradley Bourgeois and junior midfielder Ray Saari headline Tulsa’s roster; both were selected to the American Athletic Conference preseason all-conference team. Bourgeois was voted preseason AAC Defensive Player of the Year. Tulsa was picked to finish second in the conference, as voted on by the coaches.

Up Next
Virginia plays again at home Tuesday evening with a 7 p.m. match against George Mason. UVa scored a 1-0 road victory over the Patriots last season in Fairfax, Va.
