Lynchburg VDOT District Traffic Alerts: Nov. 23-27

Amherst County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 130/29 Business, Madison Heights- Paving complete; line marking ongoing.

Route 334 – Sidewalk repairs, marking eradication and paving will occur. Traffic control and flaggers in use. Estimated completion –fall 2015.

Route 501/130 (Snowden) – Traffic control/flaggers in use. Expect delays. End: 4/21/17.   

Appomattox County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

None

 

Buckingham County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator 

Route 15 and 20 – Latex surface treatment underway.

Andersonville AHQ– Crews will boom axe.

Dillwyn AHQ – Crews will mow.

Various locations –Crews will make surface repairs and respond to customer requests.

 

Campbell County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 24 and 43 – Latex surface treatment underway.

Route 29, .5 miles south of Rt. 699 – Temporary lane closures possible during pipe jacking operations.

Route 29 at Route 688 and Rt 460 @ Rt. 752– Construction of right turn lane. Use caution.

Route 643 over Falling River –Road closed, detour in place through 7/22/16 for bridge replacement and approach work. Traffic control devices/flaggers in use. Expect delays.

Route 698 over Big Seneca Creek–  Road closed from Dec. 7-18 for superstructure replacement. Detour in place using Route 701, 697, 699 and 761.

 

Charlotte County:  Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Craftons Gate AHQ -Crews will mow at various locations.

Phenix AHQ – Crews will work shoulders and cut brush at various locations.

Various Crews will make surface repairs and respond to customers.

 

Cumberland County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various locations –Crews will work surfaces, mow and respond to customers.

Halifax County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 49 over Aaron’s Creek Bridge project will be complete by 6/17/16.

Route 58– Crews are applying plant mix at various locations.

Route 344, 360 – Contractor crews are applying latex at various locations. 

Route 691 over Tobey Creek(Rt 659/658 intersection) – Road closed Dec. 7March 4 for structure replacement. Detour in place via Routes 659, 662 and 659.

Bethel AHQ – Crews will mow, repair potholes and shoulders.

Cluster Springs AHQ – Crews will mow primary routes. Delays possible.

Volens AHQ – Crews will boom axe and apply stone to shoulders.

Various –Crews will respond to customer requests.

 

Nelson County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Pittsylvania County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 29 Bypass and Route 726  – Crews  are applying plant mix.

Route 40 – Contractor crews paving. Use caution and anticipate delays.

Route 57 – Crews are applying latex at various locations.

Route 726 – Construction underway. Signs/traffic control devices in place. Est.comp-4/20/16. 

Brosville AHQ – Crews will perform ditching operations. 

Gretna AHQ – Crews will clean roadsides and boom axe.

Kentuck AHQ – Crews will make shoulder repairs and boom axe at various locations.

Mt. Airy AHQ – Crews will place stone, repair shoulders and boom axe.

Various –Crews will work surfaces, mow, and respond to customers.

 

Prince Edward County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various routes –.  Crews will work surfaces, mow, cut brush, and respond to customers.

 

District-wide activities: 

Bridge and guardrail maintenance – Crews will perform bridge/guardrail maintenance. 

Bridge-mounted signs – Foundation work underway. Traffic control devices will assist motorists.

Latex, Plant Mix and Surface Treatment Schedules – Short duration lane closures expected. Estimated completion December 2015. 

Pavement markings – Contractors are applying permanent pavement markings districtwide.
