The latest on the snow: 20 inches possible?

Contributors

snow-plow-headerThe National Weather Service has revised its snow forecast for Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro, and it’s getting to be ridiculous now.

How about 20 inches of snow being possible at elevations above 1,000 feet?

And yes, that covers most, if not all, of our area. Waynesboro is 1,286 feet above sea level, and Staunton is 1,417 feet above sea level.

The snow is expected to begin between 5-7 p.m. today and continue steadily through Thursday afternoon before tapering off Thursday evening.

Hunker down.
