#DemDebate: Anderson Cooper fails as moderator

Chris Graham

cnnCNN news personality Anderson Cooper was dogged in enforcing the rules of Tuesday’s Democratic Party presidential debate when it came to the second-tier candidates, engaging in two awkward exchanges with former Virginia U.S. Sen. Jim Webb over the rules regarding timing.

But when it came to frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, well, it was a different story.

According to the New York Times, Clinton had 31:05 of speaking time during the debate, with Sanders just behind at 28:05.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley was a distant third with 17:56 of speaking time.

Webb got 15:35, at least 30 seconds of which included him arguing with Cooper over how little time he was being given.

Former Rhode Island U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chafee got just 9:11.
