Del. Steve Landes on attorney general announcement on concealed carry reciprocity

Chris Graham

Del LandesDel. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, released the following statement in response to Attorney General Herring’s announcement on concealed carry reciprocity.

“I am deeply disappointed in Attorney General Herring’s decision to end concealed carry reciprocity with 25 states. This move is based on partisan politics rather than any legal reasoning as demonstrated by the lack of any data on crimes committed in Virginia by out-of-state concealed permit holders. Rather than focusing attention on the criminals who disregard our laws, the Attorney General is punishing law-abiding citizens across the Commonwealth. I look forward to addressing this action when the General Assembly convenes in January.”

Landes represents the 25th House District, which includes parts of Albemarle, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties. Landes is currently serving his tenth term in the Virginia House of Delegates.
