New Dominion Bookshop (404 E Main St., Charlottesville) has announced its schedule of events and specials for National Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 28.

Independent Bookstore Day marks its fourth year of celebrating independent bookstores nationwide with literary parties around the country. New Dominion Bookshop will be offering a range of free events for both children and adults all day on April 28. The lineup includes in-person appearances by authors Kristen-Paige Madonia and Donna Lucey, as well as the editors of UVA’s The Declaration, and our first annual Rose Garden Tea Party. “The rose garden has long been a treasure of our bookshop, and we are so happy to share it with the community on Indie Bookstore Day,” said assistant manager Robert Lazo. “It is a hidden gem on the Historic Downtown Mall—not many people know that there’s a slice of the English countryside right here in their midst.”
