One of the most impressive advances of the past few years has been the improvement in artificial intelligence. The Foldimate debuted in 2018 and should start rolling out to some consumers later this year. You simply feed in your clothes and the machine will fold them for you.

The Rise of Voice Control
Most smart homes rely on the use of apps through smartphones and tablets. That’s great, but the future seems to be more audio-based. More and more smart home technology is being equipped to recognise voices and voice commands, a la Siri and Alexa. In fact, it’s the prevalence and success of those automated assistants that has given rise to the boom of interest in voice control. With many soon to be released products, people will just need to speak to the device to get it to do whatever (turn on the lights, brew coffee, etc.).
