Waynesboro Public Library: December 2012 Calendar

The library will close at 5 p.m. on December 24, be closed December 25, and close at 5 p.m. on December 31.

Tuesday, December 4, 10:00 a.m. – Scrabble Club. Meet your friends and make new ones while you relax and play a game. For ages 13 and up but all skill levels are welcome. More seasoned players should bring their own board.

Tuesday, December 4, 6:00 p.m. – B.Y.O. Christmas. Bring your own ribbon, tinsel, nail polish and candy bars to create Christmas cheer to keep or give away. Ages 10+. Registration required.

Saturday, December 8, 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. – Breakfast or Lunch with Santa. Registration required.

Tuesday, December 11, 12:00 p.m. – Music at the Library featuring Valerie McQueen performing folk, country & pop. Free pizza and soda provided.

Thursday, December 13, 7:00 p.m. – Christmas Sing-Along. Bring the family and join Blue O’Connell for favorite carols set to guitar and dulcimer music.

Friday, December 14, 6:30 p.m. – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

Tuesday, December 18, 12:00 p.m. – Special Music Performance featuring the Quail Hill Quartet, a group of local homeschooled students.

Tuesday, December 18, 6:00 p.m. – Call of Duty MW3 Tournament. Are you ready to save the free world? Ages 13-19 only. Registration with parental consent is required for ages 16 and under. Space is limited. Grand prize: $50 Game Stop gift card.

Wednesday, December 19, 12:30 p.m. – Brown Bag Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion. Call the library for this month’s selection.

9:30-11:30 a.m. Chat-N-Play provides interactive play for your little one and conversation for you. Open to children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.

 

Wednesday

9:30 a.m. Mother Goose Time is an interactive program featuring songs, finger-plays, books, movements, and nursery rhymes for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.

10:30 a.m. Story Time features books, stories, songs, puppets, flannel board activities, and crafts for children ages two through five accompanied by an adult.

 

Thursday

9:30 a.m. Mamá Ganso, mother Goose in Spanish, features stories, songs, finger-plays, and movements for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.
