The Shenandoah Valley Athletic Club will begin holding its monthly meetings at the Rocktown Grill at 2061 F Evelyn Byrd Ave. in Harrisonburg with its meeting for April being held on Wednesday, April 7.

This month’s meeting will feature coaches Kenny Brooks of the James Madison University women’s basketball team and Kirby Dean of the Eastern Mennonite University men’s basketball team. Both coaches led their teams to outstanding seasons and each made the NCAA tournament in their respective divisions. Their take on the season’s highlights promises to make for a very entertaining evening.

The Club will also recognize coaches Chris Dodson of Spotswood High School and Dwight Walton of Broadway High School for guiding their teams to the Virginia High School League state tournament.

The evening will begin with a social at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:45 p.m. with the program to follow.

The SVAC brings people together from throughout the Shenandoah Valley who share a common interest in sports. Dinner meetings are held each month with the date varying depending on the availability of the guest speaker for the month. Information about the Club and how to become a member can be found on the SVAC website at www.shenvalleysports.org.
