Richard Adams Variety Show: No Turkey

Host Richard Adams promises the November 9th Variety Show will not be a turkey.  He has pulled together a saucey line up of talent for his night.   Joining Adams will be The Judy Chops, songwriter/musician Buddy Thomas, and the Shenandoah Valley’s Premiere Hula Hooper, Arrow.

The evening will be highlighted by Adam’s newest audience participation contest, “You Can Sound Like Your Favorite Thanksgiving Bird.”  An update on the Dooms Day political rally for William Martin who is running on the Coffee Party platform will be featured.  Completing the Richard Adams’ Variety Show will be the selection of an audience member for “You Can Be on a Talk Show.”

Molly and Sally Murphy, William Howard, Jessica Bergh, Remy Duguet, make up the core members of The Judy Chops. Taking their name from the Hillbilly Ninja Diamond Dave’s signature move, The Judy Chops formed in late 2008. They began their musical journey setting out to fuse their various influences from blues and  hot club & gypsy jazz, to R& B,  and reggae with the hope of creating a unique new style they like to call “Modern Vintage” or “The New Old School.”

While popular in Central Virginia, Judy Chops has toured widely in Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and the Chicago area! Festival appearances include Shenandoah Summer Blues Fest, Oak Grove Folk Festival, Lime Kiln, Farm Fest, and Camp Barefoot! Radio appearances include live spots on WMRA’s Acoustic Café and WNRN’s Acoustic Sunrise, plus featured tracks from their album on 98 Rock’s Wet Paint, and WKCY’s Homegrown Country.

Buddy Thomas is the dean of guitar players in the Central Shenandoah Valley.  He has been making music in the Valley for over thirty years and during that time has raised a family, given guitar lessons to literally thousands of area residents and played in countless local bands, most notably  Wanda and the White Boys and Rhythm Road.  His is a prolific songwriter, and an insightful and inspired artist.

Arrow is the champion hula hoop dancer in the Shenandoah Valley.  Her skills are legendary. She will challenge the audience to remember the heyday of the hoop.
