LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph set for June 13-15

Calendar 2013LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, based in Charlottesville, is where photographic legends and today’s most influential picture makers converge each summer for “three days of peace, love, and photography.”

LOOK3’s 2013 featured artists include Carrie Mae Weems, Gregory Crewdson, Josef Koudelka, Martha Rosler, Michael Nichols, Richard Misrach, Stephanie Berger, Susan Meiselas, and Tim Laman.

LOOK3 transforms Charlottesville’s historic Downtown Mall with photography shows, outdoor exhibitions, evening projections, and special events. Gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public from Friday June 7th through Saturday June 29th. The hallmark of the LOOK3 Festival is the annual TREES exhibit, which in June will showcase the Birds of Paradise from Papua New Guinea by National Geographic photographer Tim Laman. Laman will give a pre-Festival TREES Conservation Talk on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30pm in the Paramount Theater.
