The Virginia Department for the Aging announced that the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro region of the Valley Program for Aging Services will receive an $8,032 allocation under the Farm Market Fresh for Seniors program.
The allocation will provide 201 Farm Market Fresh for Seniors books to eligible individuals, the same amount as last year. FMFFS enrollment sessions will be held at the Staunton Senior Center on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at the Waynesboro Senior Center on June 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A new addition to the enrollment sessions this year is eligibility pre-screening for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), formerly known as Food Stamps, led by VPAS Outreach Coordinator Debbie Branham.
