City Council candidates forum in Staunton next week

The six candidates for Staunton City Council will take part in a candidates forum Monday at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Staunton City Hall at 116 W. Beverley St.

There are four open seats on the seven-member city council up for grabs in the May 6 city elections.

The event is sponsored by the Staunton Democratic Committee. Staunton resident Ray Firehock will serve as the moderator for the forum.

Questions from city residents may be submitted for use in the forum in advance of the event Monday night. Questions can be sent to Frank Albrecht at [email protected] ahead of the forum or handed to Albrecht at the forum.

The candidates competing for the open seats on city council are Rusty Ashby, Dickie Bell, Bob Campbell, Ophie Kier, Dave Metz and Andrea Oakes.
