RMH hosting free heart health symposium on Feb. 2

RMH will host a free heart health symposium, “Matters of the Heart,” beginning at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at the JMU Festival Conference and Student Center with free health screenings and presentations by RMH Heart & Vascular physicians.

The symposium, presented by the RMH Heart & Vascular Center, will include the following seminars:

· “New therapies and procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab,” presented by interventional cardiologist David McLaughlin, MD, of Harrisonburg Medical Associates.

· “Restore your rhythm: Comprehensive treatment of heart rhythm disorders,” presented by electrophysiologist Robert VerNooy, MD, of Harrisonburg Medical Associates.

RMH health care representatives will be available to speak with participants and answer questions. Free blood pressure screenings, educational displays and refreshments will be offered beginning at 6:30 p.m. The presentations will take place at 7 p.m.
