Barack Obama has a seven-point lead over John McCain in both the Gallup and Rasmussen Reports daily-tracking polls released today.

The lead for Obama in the Gallup track is 49 percent to 42 percent. Rasmussen gauged the Obama lead at 51 percent to 44 percent.

A scan of the leading national polls has one poll, the GW/Battleground poll, measuring the lead at three points, and at the other end of the scale a CBS News poll giving Obama a nine-point lead.

The RealClearPolitics.com poll of polls has the Obama lead at 49.2 percent to 43.4 percent.

One other tidbit of interest …

Rasmussen has Obama opening up a 10-point lead in the battleground state of New Hampshire. The Obama lead in New Hampshire was measured at 53 percent to 43 percent. Two weeks ago, McCain led Obama in New Hampshire by a 49 percent-to-47 percent margin.
