The contest saw 11 total players score in double figures, with ECU (10-2) putting six players in double figures and VMI (6-5) posting five-such scorers.

Virginia men’s lacrosse head coach Dom Starsia announced his team’s schedule for the 2014 season today. The schedule features seven home games. Among UVa’s opponents in 2014 are seven teams that played in last season’s NCAA tournament. The 85th season of Virginia men’s lacrosse will feature the earliest start in the program’s history when Loyola comes to Klöckner Stadium on Feb. 6.

The Gateway Theatre in Waynesboro hosts a special dessert version of the River City Radio Hour to celebrate the season. The performances will feature some of the Radio Hour’s favorite performers.

Bridgewater College placed four players in double figures Saturday and defeated the Virginia Intermont College Cobras 84-76 on the final day of the Don Glick Classic at Nininger Hall.

North Central College used an 11-4 second-half spurt to pull away from a 35-35 tie and the Cardinals maintained the lead down the stretch to defeat Bridgewater College, 60-51, on the opening night of the annual Don Glick Classic at Nininger Hall.

Two Virginia public universities are ranked in the Top 5 of Kiplinger Magazine’s annual ranking of the “Best Values in Public Colleges.” The University of Virginia was ranked second, while The College of William and Mary stayed at number four. Five other Virginia universities also ranked in the magazine’s top 100, including James Madison University (22), Virginia Tech (27), The University of Mary Washington (61), George Mason University (72), and Christopher Newport University (84).
