It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly four years since I was given the tremendous opportunity to serve as Virginia’s 14th Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Teaming up with Gov. Bob McDonnell and Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Todd Haymore to help lead the Commonwealth’s number one industry has truly been one of the greatest experiences of my life.

VMI basketball tops Bluefield State, 121-80

QJ Peterson had 25 points, including 20 in the first half and 12 straight at one point, and Jordan Weethee went 7 for 7 from the field, including 6 of 6 from three-point range, for a career-high 20 points to pace the VMI Keydets to a 121-80 win over the Bluefield State Blues Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall.

UVa. women’s basketball defeats Louisiana Tech, 95-82

The Virginia women’s basketball team (2-1) had its highest scoring output since 2009 as the Cavaliers defeated Louisiana Tech (0-2), 95-82, Saturday afternoon (Nov. 16) at John Paul Jones Arena. The last time UVa scored 95 points in a game was Nov. 18, 2009, a 110-63 win over USC Upstate in Charlottesville.
