Jordan Aaron had five of Milwaukee’s 11 three-pointers as part of a 24-point effort as James Madison fell 77-66 on the second day of the NIU Invitational on Saturday at the NIU Convocation Center. UWM improved to 3-1 with its third straight victory and second of the invitational. JMU fell to 1-2 in the first meeting between the programs.

QJ Peterson had 25 points, including 20 in the first half and 12 straight at one point, and Jordan Weethee went 7 for 7 from the field, including 6 of 6 from three-point range, for a career-high 20 points to pace the VMI Keydets to a 121-80 win over the Bluefield State Blues Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall.

After the VMI Keydets took a 10-7 lead into halftime, the Citadel Bulldogs scored all 24 of the game’s second half points en route to a 31-10 win in the Military Classic of the South, contested Saturday at Johnson-Hagood Stadium in Charleston, S.C.

Antonio Vaughan had 171-yards receiving and scored three touchdowns while Larry Pinkard added 156 yards and a score as Old Dominion University football completed their first-ever undefeated home series, defeating Campbell 42-14 on Saturday. ODU improved to 14-0 all-time in November with the win.

The top-seeded UVa. women’s soccer team opened play in the 2013 NCAA Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) Friday night in front of 1,611 fans at Klöckner Stadium. Sophomore forward Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) recorded her first career hat trick to lead the Cavaliers (21-1) into the second round.

Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe announced his “Common Ground for Virginia” transition committee on Thursday, a bipartisan group of Virginians from all regions of the Commonwealth who will work with McAuliffe over the next two months to build the foundation for a successful administration.

Democrat Mark Herring is declaring victory and calling himself “attorney general-elect,” but Republican Mark Obenshain isn’t close to throwing in the towel. “No matter what Mark Herring says, with this margin, nobody can predict which of us will be sworn in as Virginia’s next attorney general. It still could go either way. There’s a lot at stake, and I’m not about to give up now,” Obenshain said.

The week-long review of votes, locality by locality, is complete, and Democrat Mark Herring has a 106-vote lead in the Virginia attorney general race over Republican Mark Obenshain. The State Board of Elections will certify the vote on Monday, Nov. 25, at which point we can almost certainly expect to see the Obenshain campaign file for a recount.
