Scott Berg will be the guest speaker at its 2013 Annual Luncheon at noon Friday, Nov. 8 at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel. Berg’s book titled Wilson is a fresh look at one of America’s most important and influential Presidents, Woodrow Wilson.

Senior quarterback Willie Logan threw three touchdown passes and rushed for an additional score as the Bridgewater Eagles football team upended Emory & Henry by a 34-17 tally on Saturday afternoon at Fred Selfe Stadium. The win for Bridgewater ended a four-game skid and handed the Eagles their first conference victory of the season.

A new Christopher Newport University poll has Democrats Terry McAuliffe and Ralph Northam and Republican Mark Obenshain with varying leads in their statewide races. McAuliffe leads Republican Ken Cuccinelli 45 percent to 38 percent in the governor’s race, with Libertarian Robert Sarvis polling 10 percent.

McDonnell announces $45 million investment in Henrico County

Gov. Bob McDonnell today announced that Dominion Packaging will invest $45 million to establish a manufacturing operation in Henrico County. The company, which produces high-quality packaging solutions for major customers in the tobacco, quick service restaurant, and consumer markets, will also move its headquarters to Henrico.
