The 30th annual Republican Advance was this weekend and I have to tell you: the future of the Republican Party in Virginia is bright. At the dinner last night, I shared, first and foremost, my gratitude for the many hundreds of dedicated Virginians who began doing the hard work of the canvass scarcely twelve hours after the polls closed on Election Night.

McDonnell: Virginia preparing for possible significant ice storm

Gov. Bob McDonnell today encouraged Virginians to prepare for a potentially disruptive early-season ice storm that will affect the Commonwealth this Sunday. While exact impacts are still somewhat uncertain, Virginians should make preparations now for possible power outages, that could be lengthy if large amounts of ice accumulate.

Report: Virginia top 20 agricultural products in 2012

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced the state’s top 20 agricultural commodities for the 2012 production year. “This list shows the diversity of Virginia agriculture, which is just one of the reasons our products are in such demand in the global marketplace,” said Matt Lohr, VDACS Commissioner.

UVa. men’s soccer plays host to UConn. Friday in NCAA Quarterfinals

UVa. will play host to Connecticut at 7 p.m. Friday at Klöckner Stadium in the quarterfinals of the 2013 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. The advancing team moves on to the NCAA College Cup, slated for Dec. 13 and 15 in Philadelphia. The eighth-seeded Cavaliers advanced to the quarterfinals after a 3-1 win over ninth-seeded Marquette Sunday.
