A Waynesboro woman allegedly attacked a man in the middle of the road Saturday afternoon on East Main Street.
April Bradley Riddle, 50, had a knife in one hand and a stun gun in the other when officers arrived to the scene at noon. (Note: We did confirm her age with the Waynesboro Police Department.)
The calls to police reported that Riddle had broken the windows of the man’s vehicle and was using weapons against him.
When officers arrived on scene, Riddle complied with commands to drop the weapons and was detained. The address provided by police is in the vicinity of a residential area with a small trailer court, the Moonshine Market and the former Virginia Metalcrafters building.
After speaking with the male victim, officers took Riddle into custody without further incident.
She faces the following alleged violations:
- §18.2-51 — Malicious wounding (felony)
- §18.2-51 — Unlawful wounding (felony)
- §18.2-308.2 — Possession of stun weapons by convicted felons (felony)
- §18.2-250 — Possession of controlled substances (felony)
- §18.2-137 — Destruction of property (misdemeanor)
Riddle has previously faced charges related to welfare fraud, controlled substances, driving with a suspended license, failure to report to jail and numerous probation violations.
According to online court records, she last served time in prison in 2017 related to a felony probation violation. She was sentenced to three years with all but 46 days suspended.
Riddle was held without bond and transported to Middle River Regional Jail, where she remains in custody.
Her next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2026, in Waynesboro General District Court.
