Albemarle County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a Charlottesville man who fled a traffic stop on Sunday.

Torius Jihad Price, 24, of Charlottesville, has fresh warrants for one felony count of eluding, one felony count of damage to property, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run.

Price also faces a charge of violation of a court order stemming from a first-degree murder charge in Albemarle County, which is on the court docket for a jury trial scheduled to begin on May 18.

In the murder case, Price and Taquarius Olando Catoe-Anderson, 24, are facing charges in the Feb. 21, 2023, murder of Joshua Lamont Jones, 34.

Catoe-Anderson has a jury trial scheduled to begin on Aug. 10.

ICYMI

The March 8 incident involving Price involved an attempted traffic stop at 3:15 a.m. Per an ACPD report, an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop for a driver suspected of driving under the influence.

The driver, Price, failed to yield, and a brief pursuit ensued before the vehicle came to a stop, and Price fled on foot.

The photo of Price used with this story is from 2024 and does not reflect his current hairstyle, which is shorter, police tell us.

Price should be considered armed and dangerous. If he is seen, do not approach, and call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone who wishes to anonymously report Price’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
