Waynesboro teacher now charged with producing, distributing child pornography

A Waynesboro Public School teacher is now facing additional charges after being indicted by an Augusta County grand jury on July 22.

Joseph Emmanuel Trust, 38, of Stuarts Draft, faces new charges for:

  • 37 counts of 18.2-374.1, Production of Child Pornography
  • 10 counts of 18.2-374.1:1, Reproducing/Distributing Child Pornography.

On June 3, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office obtained charges by warrant:

  • Two counts of 18.2-370, Taking indecent liberties with a child
  • Two counts of 18.2-374.1, Produce, distribute, finance child pornography
  • Two counts of 18.2-67.1, Forcible Sodomy
  • 18.2-67.2, Object Sexual Penetration

Trust was arrested in April on an aggravated sexual battery charge involving a female child under the age of 13. ASCO investigators worked with the Shenandoah Valley Child Protective Services on the investigation.

Trust was placed on administrative leave from his job as a Spanish teacher on April 24. He is currently suspended without pay. He has been employed by the school system since Jan. 17, 2020.

He remains at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
