Waynesboro School Board begins search for new superintendent

The Waynesboro School Board announced Tuesday that it will begin the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications for a new superintendent. Superintendent Robin Crowder said last week that he plans to retire at the end of the current fiscal year on June 30. Crowder has been in the superintendent position for six and a half years.

“Hiring a new superintendent is the biggest task facing a school board and we want to make sure that the public has a voice in this process,” said School Board Chair Jeremy Taylor. “We hope that parents, staff and residents will take time to fill out the survey or attend the public hearing.”

The School Board will make available a survey related to superintendent criteria, which is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/5SHQ2QQ.  Hard copies of the survey will also be available at the school board administration offices and each school office.  All surveys are due by Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m.

In addition to the survey, the board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held at Kate Collins Middle School in the auditorium. This public hearing is to voice your opinion on the superintendent criteria.
