UVaHelmet_1The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today additional dates the Notre Dame football team will face conference opponents in future schedules. The Fighting Irish and Cavaliers are slated to meet three times between 2019 and 2024.

The future matchups will occur during the 2019, 2021 and 2024 seasons.

Virginia plays at Notre Dame on Sept. 28 in 2019. The Irish visit Scott Stadium in 2021 and the two teams meet again at Notre Dame Stadium in 2024. The dates for the 2021 and 2024 contests will be announced in the future.

The ACC previously announced the teams will meet on Sept. 12, 2015 in Charlottesville.

Virginia has faced Notre Dame only once before at the 1989 Kickoff Classic at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. The No. 2 Irish defeated the Cavaliers, 36-13.

In April of 2013, the ACC announced an arrangement with Notre Dame to face ACC teams each year in football as part of its agreement to join the league. The Fighting Irish will play five ACC teams each year, alternating between three home games and two away and two home games and three away each year.
