The Friday, April 18th River City Radio Hour will mark the first appearance of Frets & Fingers on the Radio Hour and another chapter of Basic City Boys.   Completing the monthly performance will be the Boogie Kings and Waynesboro’s First Lady of Laughter, Marsha Howard.  The performance will start at 7:30pm at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main Street, downtown Waynesboro.

Ukulele/bass/vocal duo, Frets & Fingers, from Maine, are coming to April Radio Hour to sing and play popular favorites from the twenties on.  They are Frets Halligan (aka Charlie Rancke) on ukulele and ‘Fingers’ Tredwell on bass. Frets once lived in Verona and Swoope and played with the bluegrass bands Hankey Mountain Express and Cloud Valley.

marsha howard is anything but a newcomer to the Radio Hour.  She has been a regular on the show since its beginning.  Her treasure trove of jokes has been mined for their humor and their suitability for the Radio Hour audiences. “Many people stop me and offer me a joke for the Radio Hour.” she says.  “Sadly, many are not family-friendly, and since we want to appeal to all ages, I have to insure that my comedy is appropriate for children as well as adults.”

Since September 2013, the River City Radio Hour has had a delayed broadcast on wsva (550 am) on the last Sunday of the month at 9 am.

Advance tickets for the April 18th River City Radio Hour are $10 and are available online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Remaining tickets will be available at the door on the evening of the performances for $12. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.  The show will last approximately 90 minutes with intermission.  WTA’s Gateway is located at 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.
