I’m not sure why you play teams that you’re going to beat 7-0, which was the final score for #13 Virginia in its game with La Salle on Thursday at Klöckner Stadium.

La Salle (1-1-0) was 7-8-3 a year ago, against nobody.

The program did get to the A-10 title game in 2023.

That’s something.

The coach, Paul Royal, has taken La Salle to five NCAA Tournaments, but the last was in 2017.

The only thing that can happen in a game like this is, somebody gets hurt.

That doesn’t appear to have happened to our UVA team (3-0-0).

Addison Halpern scored two goals and had an assist, it was 4-0 19 minutes in, 5-0 at the break.

“It was good to get some players some minutes,” Virginia coach Steve Swanson said afterward. “We have things we need to get better at, but I thought it was good to get the result and score some goals.”
