Staunton City Council members and staff are working over the next couple of months to set its school and capital budget priorities running July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
The Fiscal Year 2027 budget and Capital Improvement Plan should be finalized by late April.
Staff have been focused on estimating revenues and working through budget requests from departments and outside agencies to put together the city’s proposed budget.
On Jan. 22, City Council held a joint work session with the Staunton City School Board to discuss its budget and priorities.
The proposed budget will be presented to City Council by City Manager Leslie Beauregard on March 26.
Public comment is welcome and may be provided at work sessions and public hearings during the budget process.
Additional information on the budget may be found on the city’s website at www.staunton.va.us/budget.
