Half the contestants have been chosen for WTA’s Open Mic Talent Night finals in June.  Four positions remain open.  On February 6, 2014, under the direction of host, Lorie Strother, the fifth contestant will be selected for the June Finale.

gatewayThe Thursday, February 6th round begins at 7:00 pm at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main in Downtown Waynesboro. Lorie Strother, also known as the Dreaded Blues Lady, welcomes a full range of talent for the competition: music, comedy, poetry, magic, etc. “Our first group of competitors was a strong field.  I look forward to another exiting round.” said Lorie.  “There is no better place for new talent to spread their wings and for those who have been warming up for a long time,” Strother added.

The winner of the February Talent Night will walk away with a cash prize and an invitation to return for the Talent Night Finale on Saturday, June 7, 2014.  The winner is selected by audience choice.  Everyone who contributes $1 or more gets a ballot and an opportunity to select the evenings winning talent.

The winner of the June competition will receive a cash prize and a gig at a WTA-produced event, and a professional promotional video created for them by the Augusta Free Press.

Performers are asked to arrive as close to 7 pm as possible to register for a performance slot.  The lineup is determined by a drawing.  Each act will have 10 minutes on the Gateway stage.

Admission is free.
