Psychology office relocates in Harrisonburg

Commonwealth Psychological Services, PLC (CPS) and CPS NeuroCare, LLC, has responded to increased requests for services adding additional staff and relocating from its former 900 square foot office on Blue Stone Hills Drive to a 3200 square foot office on Neff Avenue. Staff additions include Dr. Rowland Shank, Jr., PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist from Lancaster (PA) who provides individual and family therapy along with congregational consulting and Mr. Matthew Wikswo, LPC a local licensed professional counselor who specializes in children adolescents, and families. In addition, Dr. Gaddis, founder of CPS in 2006 has recently earned National Certification as a Custody Evaluator in response to increased demand for custody services.

Founded in 2006, CPS provides an array of mental health services with special emphasis on counseling, neuropsychological evaluations, cognitive rehabilitation and ADHD assessment and treatment, for people ages 5 through senior adult.

Dr. Shank adds over 25 years’ experience through his work in Pennsylvania, formerly at Philhaven Hospital (Mt. Gretna, PA) and later at Behavioral Healthcare Consultants (Lancaster). He earned his PhD in 1984 at Fuller Theological Seminary (CA). In addition to spending time with his family, he is an avid NASCAR fan and voracious reader.

Mr. Wikswo, earned his M.Ed./Ed.S at UVA in counselor education in 2005. He has worked in public and private practice in this region and continues collaborative with the Attachment Clinic at UVA. He is known as an avid cyclist in the area.

CPS staff are members of various organizations in their specialized treatment fields and a corporate member of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.
