Lynchburg: High school basketball game rescheduled due to threat

A high school basketball game was rescheduled after a reported threat was made, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

The game, scheduled for tonight, was between Heritage and E.C. Glass high schools.

Lynchburg City Schools staff notified police about the threat at approximately 8 a.m. this morning.

Police launched an investigation to assess the situation thoroughly.

Out of an abundance of caution, Lynchburg City Schools rescheduled tonight’s game.

Police are continuing the investigation to ensure that all appropriate measures are taken.
