The Wildlife Center of Virginia is in the midst of its biggest annual fundraiser, an annual online auction that helps provide the food, medication, medical supplies, and specialized equipment the center’s staff needs to care for thousands of wild animals each year.
“This auction is an opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference for Virginia’s wildlife,” said Meg Gammage-Tucker, president of the Wildlife Center, which is located in Waynesboro. “Every dollar raised helps us care for injured and orphaned wildlife, advance conservation research, and train the next generation of wildlife veterinarians and rehabilitators.”
The auction is open to everyone — register and submit your bids at wcv.givesmart.com or through links on the organization’s homepage at www.wildlifecenter.org.
This year’s auction features a wide variety of unique items and experiences, including artwork created by the Center’s animal ambassadors, the opportunity to work alongside Wildlife Center staff for a day, and the chance to release one of the center’s Bald Eagle patients back to the wild.
